The problem

When a mountain bike flips, everything that sticks up gets ripped off. A headlight perched on top of the bar is the first thing to go, and it takes the mount with it. The other failure is quieter: an integrated battery that dies at dusk, an hour from the car, with no way to swap it.

The fix

This headlight sits small and low on the bar, tucked in next to the stem, where the bar and the stem shield it in a crash. It is a one piece clamp, so there is no bracket to snap. The battery is a removable pack, the same one our Flush Tail Light uses, so one spare covers both lights. When the pack runs empty far from home, it runs on three AAA batteries from any petrol station. No dead integrated battery, no dead light.

Questions

Why mount a light low?
In a crash the bar and the stem take the hit. A light tucked under the bar next to the stem is shielded, while one on top of the bar gets torn off.
What if the battery dies mid ride?
Pull the pack and drop in three AAA batteries. The light keeps running.
Is the battery the same as the tail light?
Yes. One spare pack serves both lights.
Which bar diameter does the clamp fit?
Send us your bar model through the contact form before ordering and we will confirm the fit.
